| New Years! |
[Dec. 29th, 2008|11:43 am] |
I have a request for the New Years part Wednesday night. Could people bring finger food or some small snack food. Not a lot, just some munchies. There will be about 20 people I think and I will be making egg rolls, truffles, and some fried mushrooms I know. Things like chips, salsa, dip, veggies, whatever. If you want a lot of special stuff for the drinking then bring that. We have the champagne so don't worry about that. Think of it as the December potluck. |

| | Twenty paths diverge in a wood | ] | There is nothing I hate more than not knowing my own mind. I still can't decide where I would like life to take me after graduation in May. I don't know if the graduate schools I am applying to will take me to a career I want or if the jobs I can apply for are ones that I would enjoy. I have never felt this restless. I always feel restless at the end of the semester, more so when that semester means the end of a chapter in my life. The end of this semester with the end of my four year degree staring at me is making me feel very lost. Even smaller decisions than where will I be headed for the rest of my life seem insurmountable some days.
I'm not sad or depressed or anything...just so damn frustrated I could SCREAM some days. Something is going to snap and change soon, I can tell. It's like a string on a guitar that is tuned too tightly. It won't be big, but it will remove the pressure. I am very aware that it is all self imposed pressure, an imagined weight of the future on my shoulders. Everyone has to make decisions like this, I just wish life was easy. |

I have a charity presale offer for Spamalot staring Richard Chamberlain (of "Towering Inferno" fame) which is coming to town in March. $50 or $55 per ticket and for every ticket bought they donate $15 to the AADD. Show is March 17-22 and this is a rare opportunity to sit in the center section of the orchestra without paying close to or over $100. Who wants to go? I don't know how long the presale offer is good for so think fast. |

| Potluck |
[Dec. 7th, 2008|11:05 am] |
I cannot think of a good day to have the potluck this month due to finals and the holidays and all so here is my idea. We have the potluck January 2nd or 3rd, after the hangovers are done. This gives the added bonus of Katie being in town for the party this time! I know that everyone misses having her at parties. So start thinking about a good theme cause my brain is tapped out for themes right now. Also, do you want to do a White Elephant exchange at the potluck? You can get rid of that horrific pair of pjs that your grandmother gave you again. Just an idea cause I haven't done one in a loooong time. Please, comment. |

| Rent Final Tour |
[Dec. 5th, 2008|03:40 pm] |
|
So the final tour of Rent is next year...until they do a revival of course. Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal from the original cast and movie will be touring with the show for the last time. The closest it comes is Charlotte, NC so Lee and I are thinking about taking a road trip to see the show. Anyone else want to come? I'm thinking maybe a Saturday matinee at 2 so we can acually drive there and back in a day...or if people want we can get a hotel room in charlotte and see a night show. It could be a fun miniroad trip for you musically minded people. |

Jeremy's grandmother died last night at 10:30. Apparently he is doing ok right now. I also just found out tonight that a friend of mine from high school is having a fundraiser to modify their house for a wheelchair because her little brother was paralyzed in June. They are raising money to modify the house so he can come home from the hospital. It's on December 12th and I think that I will be going down now. I'm shocked...the accident was in June. I feel bad for not talking to her for so long that I had no idea. I don't know Cam very well, but she was a close friend of mine. |

| Potluck |
[Nov. 10th, 2008|05:16 pm] |
From the little bit of response I got about the potluck... How's Breakfast foods on Friday November 21st. Start responding with what you want to bring or prepare. Juice, stuff for mimosas or bloody mary's would be neat since it's at night and I know some people aren't big on the cooking. Feel free to get creative with the breakfast goodies.
People are welcome to wear their PJ's. You have to wear clothes, sorry to those who normally sleep au natural, clothes are required. |

So it looks like my idea for the potluck won't be feasable right now. So any ideas on what we should do instead? Greek, Italian, French, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Breakfast foods, please put in your two cents so we can decide when to do it and what to do. |

| November Potluck |
[Nov. 5th, 2008|04:33 pm] |
|
Who wants to have another potluck? We were talking about doing Bonucalda (phonetic as far as I can tell, I can't spell it but it's tasty). A Sicilian fondue-esq meal. The catch is that we would have to get enough electric skillets, the ones that have about a 1 inch wall. I have one, thats enough for 4 people...everyone gets their own corner to cook in. Anyone else have one so we could make this work? Or does anyone else have a good idea for the potluck? I'm sure no one wants to put up with my lame ideas every month. |

| To whom it may concern |
[Nov. 3rd, 2008|05:11 pm] |
To who ever hid my stuff around my room and turned my TV volume all the way up at the party Saturday. Where did you hide my Stargate season 10 DVD? I was supposed to lend that to G tonight, but I can't find it. Also, don't hide stuff under my sheets, I'm lucky I didn't flop down on my bed and land on my giant gargoyle statue. The loud TV volume was also an unpleasant shock.
edit: I found it. Next time, leave my stuff where I put it guys. |

| Octoberfest |
[Oct. 27th, 2008|10:53 am] |
Saturday, the day after the Halloween Party. Some of us are planing on moseying up to Helen for the end of October Fest. So far I know Jeb, Jon, Jeremy, Danielle, and I are going. Any one else want to come? I'll probably be taking Dad's Expedition so we can fit more people into the car. It can fit up to 8, so we won't have to take more than probably 2 cars. See everyone Friday! |

| Happy Dance |
[Oct. 20th, 2008|10:39 am] |
Yesterday my friend Lee and I went to see Wicked, if you have the chance to go see it DO. The sets were AMAZING, the singing was top notch. All in all now one of my favorite shows. Lee and I had great seats, we were far to the right side of the stage, but we were in Orchestra row Y, just close enough. We grabbed dinner at R. Thomas which was delicious and coffee at Cafe Intermezzo, everyone needs to go there. OMG the cheesecake. Best part, I was reading my program and I saw an article on the Fox Theatre Institute. A program the Fox Theatre has begun to help theatres around Georgia restore themselves. Since the Fox has their own historic pres department they are helping other theatres get grants and other money. I found the email for the head of the historic pres department and sent her an email last night asking if they had positions at the bottom, or need of an intern. She wants to see my CV! Getting an internship with them would look great on my grad school app. If I could work at the Fox, work with restoring it...I can't describe how much I love that theatre. |
